Have not used it before, so I'm not sure if this issue is specific to 18.04 or whether it also manifested Since the camera works on desktops, I think we can rule out the SD card and camera.I've been struggling with getting my (micro)SD card reader working on my laptop under 18.04 I Sony's website only offers the same software the camera has which doesn't see any pictures from the laptops perspective. Yes, I copied off the pictures on my desktop and let the laptop format it, took a few more pics and tried again, and it wants to format again. I have no idea why the laptops want to wipe and desktops don't. The E6430 is brand new and has all updated drivers and Windows Updates. If we plug in the camera to my Desktop (Optiplex 980) or his assistant's 790 - Same Windows 7 64-bit, it doesn't ask to wipe, and we can use Explorer to browse pics, and the software it offers also then finds the pictures. And the software that the camera offers to use to browse the camera finds no pictures either If we plug in the SD back in to the camera and plug that into the computer you can't browse the camera for the pictures. Windows 7 64-bit wants to wipe it and format it despite he has pictures on it. He has a Sony camera with a removal SD card that fits in the slot in the front of his laptop. So a staff person here has a Latitude E6430.
